As I've stated in previous posts, I normally just buy Mainstays candles and for good reason. Because they are soooooo cheap and they smell wonderful!
I have around 40 Mainstay's candles in every scent imaginable.
I'm not a huge fan of spicy bakery smells so most of mine are floral and fruity, with a few fresh scents mixed in.
One huge perk about mainstays candles is that there are so many shapes and sizes that you can try out.
You can get a 3 oz candle for 1 dollar
a 11.5 oz candle for 3.50
and a 20 oz candle for 5 dollars
and please believe me when I say that they do burn for quite a while and they leave your room smelling like what ever scent you've chosen to burn. My personal favs are juicy apple, and fresh cotton. I've also recently started loving sweet pea. However Garden Rain used to rank number one for me but I've stopped burning that scent so much because...well I burned it sooo much!
The 11.5 oz candles come with three wicks so they burn faster than any of the one wick candles, but they leave your room smelling a bit better than the one wicks (which are the 20 oz and the 3 oz) because more of the oil in the wax is burning at a faster rate...I'm guessing?
One down side I will say is that the 3 oz candles never burn to the bottom of the jar. The usually leave a food 3/4 or 1 inch of wax left, but for only costing 1 dollar, they are very fragrent and totally worth it especially if you just want to test a scent out or put one as a gift in an easter basket or goody bag.
They come out with new collections suited for the different seasons in the fall and in the spring but the juicy apple, vanilla, garden rain, fresh cotton, black cherry, warm apple pie, cranberry mandarin, hazlenut cream, sweet lavender, sweet pea and probably a few others are in their permanent collection. I buy mine at Wal*Mart but I've heard that you can get them other places or you can just order them off of Wal*Mart's website, a downside to that is that you have to order them in bulk off the website so you'd have to buy 3 or 4 at a time.
I do buy other brands which I'll be reviewing later, but mostly I use Mainstay's. Hope you found this info helpful and if you want to know anything about the brand I'll be more than happy to answer.
BTW...Yes that would be part of my collection!

Cube of Wax?
So it's not a candle but quite comparable...I guess. And extrodinarily cheap. Ladies and gentlemen it's what I call an oil burner, but alsa this post is called cube of wax so you might be wondering how the two corolate. Well it's as simple as this,...you can put cubes of wax onto the oil burner instead of oil! Now I might be old fashioned (or just cheap) but instead of using the electronic tart/oil burners, I use the ones that you heat up with a little tea light candle. The burners are as cheap as 3 dolllars, a pack of 50 tealights is 2.25 and a 6 pack of wax cubes is about 2 bucks at the Wal*Mart near my house anyways. Normally things of such a cheap nature are of horrible quality but as soon as you set the wax cube on the burner and light the tealight, the entire room is absolutely flooded with whatever smell you've chosen. The smells can be a bit overwhelming, especially the fruity kinds, so I normally chose floral or vanilla scents.
My favorite brand of wax cubes is Better Home & Gardens, and my all time favorite flavor is Warm Vanilla Creme. As a matter of fact I just had one burning in my living room about 20 minutes ago and I can still smell it even though I located the burner into a different room. However, I still love candles more!

When Did it Start
Candles
I'm not quite sure how anyone could overlook them.
I get asked a lot why I like them so much and why I collect them. It all started when both of my bestfriends were busy for awhile in the fall, I was reading a lot at that time. I had been laying on my bed reading for a few hours when this horrible erie feeling came over me. I had no idea why, but I felt so alone and afraid. So I sent a text Abby's (one of the two BFF's) way and she said: "Light a candle and it will keep you company." But I had none so the next day when she came and got me for school, she handed me a small juicy apple candle and said I got this for you. She's always doing nice things like that for me. So then I preceded to steal a couple candles from Tyler's (the other friends) mother.
Then I got a cranberry mandarin\and then I got a cinnamon
and I just kept collecting more and more until I had specific times I could burn each and I divided them into seasons and which ones I'm saving until I move and now I have a select few that I burn while 40 others sit on my shelf to be saved for a collection I want at my new house I'm moving into in the summer.
So I like them because they make me feel like I'm not alone when I really am
The scents remind me of certain times in my life
I like playing in the melted wax
I love having a collection of something that's mine
By the way I always get Wal*Marts mainstays brand.
They are cheap and wonderful.
and this may sound a little silly but now I don't know if I could live a day without candles in my life.
